Native Women’s Association of Canada
As a health and social care provider, you play an important role in the safety of Indigenous People who seek your services. It can be an intimidating, re-traumatizing, and frustrating experience for Indigenous People, particularly Indigenous Women, Two-Spirit, and LGBTQIA+ people, to discuss their health and social care needs with professionals. Due to complex trauma and other factors that some people live with, particularly surrounding medical care, they may have difficulty communicating their needs.
A written survey post-visit can provide a safe approach to providing valuable feedback.
-
Abortion Support Services Atlantic (ASSA)
ASSA offers a two-day workshop where you will learn about the fundamentals of trauma informed support, how language impacts our work, skills, and tools to support someone seeking abortion care.
-
